Letter from the Co-Founders

Dear Readers,

Barnard College is an incredibly special place. From our location to our professors to our fellow students there is a lot around our campus to amaze you. One of our goals here at The Nine Ways of Knowing is to reflect that in our articles. That is why we bring you our nine diverse sections that cover everything from politics to arts, on campus events to cooking. We are also trying to create a publication that will allow our writers and contributors to explore their interests and write articles all of us are proud to post. But why a blog as opposed to a physical publication? The answer is one of speed. Once an article is completed it can be published in minutes, not days or weeks. That allows us to bring you the most current information we can.
What will follow this letter over the next week is our first batch of articles. Our goal is to publish at least one a day. We are still accepting applications for both staff writers and section editors; the applications are available on the blog and our facebook page. We also accept guest contributors. If this interests you, e-mail us a short proposal for your article.
We want to thank our staff writers, who have been working over break to ensure that we would have content for our launch. Their articles are great and we cannot wait for you to read them. We would be remiss if we did not also take the time to thank Lindsay’s boyfriend Andy Marmer. His experience in college publications has been an immense help to us in figuring out the logistics of how this kind of crazy idea could actually work out.
We look forward to sharing our work with you and we truly hope you enjoy it.
